Students must register for a minimum of 15 credits per semester, including the Portuguese as a Second Language course (required).
In addition to the language course, students will enroll in electives courses, in English or Portuguese, taught at CIEE or Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio).
All courses offered by PUC-Rio are available to international students with few exceptions. The PUC Office of International Studies has provided a list of recommended courses for international students, which includes courses in arts, business, economics, geography, history, international relations, modern languages, psychology, social communication, social services, sociology, and theology.
