Ambassador Andrea Canepari is Professor of Practice at Penn State School of International Affairs where he teaches Public Diplomacy. He also teaches Comparative Law at Penn State Dickinson Law. He is Senior Affiliate for the Partnership for Innovation, Cross-Sector Collaboration, Leadership, and Organization (PICCLO) at University of Pennsylvania. Among his several responsibilities as Italian Diplomat (currently on leave), he served as Ambassador in the Dominican Republic and Consul General in Philadelphia.
His research interests include public and cultural diplomacy with a focus on diaspora, subnational and food diplomacy. He taught public diplomacy and international relations in several universities including Bocconi University in Milan.
He received his BA and MSc. in Economics from Bocconi University, J.D. from University of Parma and LL.M. from University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. Among his several international decorations, he received an Honorary Doctorate from the American University of Rome.
He is the editor of several books on the Italian Legacy in the world, including one on the Italian Legacy in the Dominican Republic (published in its English edition by St. Joseph University Press), and one on the Italian Legacy in Philadelphia in collaboration with Prof. Judith Goode (published in its English edition by Temple University Press). He wrote several academic articles and Op-Eds in journals and newspapers worldwide.
